Was skating Downtown Lawrence kansas and came across Jimmy and a drummer from another band skating in a parking garage I went up to greet him... I asked if he was in a band and in the nicest English accent .." yeah im from higher Power" ..he told me to come check the show out ...i ended up going and now I can't stop listening

I love how this band can switch between some pretty heavy hardcore punk (not nearly as heavy as Discharge, but definitely heavier than early Descendents) and some beautiful shoegaze-like melodies that get stuck in my head constantly. Easily among my favorite hardcore bands.

Deftones is my favorite band, but I don't hear that much similarities.
This reminds me more of Snapcase, Feeder, Violent Soho, Jimmy Eat World, Smashing Pumpkins, Turnstile and Basement.
Great stuff nevertheless, this is going to be one of my favorite albums of the next decade.
