There's no need to add semicolons in modern editors. If you use Prettier in Visual Studio Code, it will automatically insert the semicolon before the square brackets, or undo the line-break on save (so you can easily notice that your code is being interpreted in a different way than you intended).

Using semicolons or not is more of a stylistic choice. If you're using a modern editor, omitting them is just as safe and, in my opinion, much cleaner.
