Another pack for another occasion - Seems to be the Aer motto these days. They design a backpack for very specific use cases, just like the Fit Pack 3. This backpack is designed for people who go to the gym, and the office, but do not carry a ton of gear.

**********

Get the Aer Fit Pack 3 if…

✅ Get this pack if you go between the gym and the office

✅ Get this pack if you pack lightly

✅ Get this pack if you love the style

**********

DO NOT get the Aer Fit Pack 3 if…

❌ Think twice about getting this pack if you are a hardcore gym person. If you need to bring lots of gear for the gym, the Aer duffel pack 3 might be a better fit... 👇🏼

→ Aer Duffel Pack 3 → Same same but bigger

❌ IF everyday carry is your priority and carrying gym gear is not, then the Modern Dayfarer backpack might be a better fit for you. It has a similar style but is more of an EDC first and gym pack second… 👇🏼

→ Modern Dayfarer Backpack → Modern styling and excellent access

❌ If you are an extra hardcore gym person and you want a backpack to reflect that, the styling of the King Kong backpacks might be a better option for you… 👇🏼

→ King Kong Plus 26L → Gymmers gym pack

→ King Kong Edge 35L → Gymmers gym pack XL

Aer is best known for making sleek, anonymous gear for urban dwellers. They have a very unified look and feel - always using Cordura ballistic nylon and chunky YKK zippers in their designs.

I use this one for (a) small 3-5 day trips, (b) going to coffee shops, but also (c) for international flights but then alongside a 60L luggage (the Aer Fit comes with me in the cabin with laptop and a shirt and underwater in case luggage gets lost, which is about the same amount of clothing for gym). I’m generally very happy with this bag, but it seems to be a bit big for the coffee shop and a little bit small for the 4-day trip.

This is the perfect gym back for me as I walk to a nearby gym. If you are a serious gym goer and carry extra clothes/shoes etc this may be too small. I would recommend the duffel backpack. But for me, it's the right size to hold a giant hydroflask, my gloves, phone, etc. Looks and feels great. Not a fan of shoe compartment. Just put your shoes in a shoe bag and toss them in the main compartment.

I got this bag, not for the gym, but for travel. Went to Paris for a week and this was my personal under the seat bag on the plane. Allowed me to easily pack a second pair of shoes without having them take up space or extra weight in my carry on bag.

Can confirm the shoulder straps is super comfortable. Thought maybe they were even too overbuild at first, but hey why not.

I had the original version of this (19L) and used it as my personal item for international travel without any issues from airlines. However, I recently had to pack suits and shoes for special occasions in my carry-on luggage and had to resort to offsetting some packing cubes into this, which made me realize how tight the main compartment is. I'm trying to find a bigger, comparable bag that still fits the "personal item" size for most international flights (granted, this was still bigger than the official size, but no one has ever stopped me). I had my eye on the Able Carry Max EDC (26L), which checked all the boxes (quick-access side pockets, outer compartment big enough for headphones and jacket, separate tech compartment - enough for tablet, chargers, and cables, clamshell main compartment—since the Fit Pack never had one)—except it's maybe too tall and probably more noticeable to airlines.
Any other suggestions are appreciated 🙏

I love every aspect of this backpack besides the tech compartment. I wish it was just one section without the tech compartment since I’m mainly looking for the gym back and won’t have a use for that.

I’m a big fan of the channel! And I bought some backpacks because of your review! One thing I noticed about this one there is absolutely no B-Roll full body shots of Aaron wearing the backpack and walking with it lol

I wish the front zipper or the front opened differently so you could see the whole inside of the pocket. More like the top pocket on the Aer Gym Duffel 3. I feel like it'd be easier to pack. I personally like this bag as a carryon/personal item when flying for someone who likes to pack a few just in case sets of clothes when traveling when I'm using a checked bag.

Between this and sling bag for gym, which do you prefer? Well, if you are just gonna use it for the gym?

Using this back as a semi regular EDC at the moment - I personally am fine with it but the lack of space can’t be emphasized enough. I have a laptop, one small charger, one pair of gym clothes, shoes, water bottle and one notebook. And you almost dont realize it until you use it every day that this really is kind of 80% full already just with that. Want to bring your own towel? It won’t fit well. Want big bulky headphones? Once the shoes are in best you can do it kinda fit it on top over the laptop. Have multiple tech stuff? Get something else.

It’s great for me because all I need for my work is the computer and all I need for the gym is shoes and the change of clothes but can definitely see how it would be niche. I also always wonder if it would be better to have a regular EDC and then just shove the shoes in its own shoe bag to keep it separate from the rest of your things, but then you probably have more backpack functionality.

Love your reviews! I would appreciate your insight into the wind/water proof-ness of this pack(or X-Pac version). Perhaps a hose test?

I would love to use this one alas I carry too much stuff :/ so I have to have a dedicated gym bag that I can just toss around without worrying about damaging my laptop, and another backpack for my work stuff/lunch. I’m currently using a Carhatt Legacy 24in Duffel bag (brown) and let me tell you it is PERFECT and sexy AF; I can fit a pair of shoes, a towel, change of clothes, toiletries bag, and more. It has a “rubberized” base so I can just toss it in then trunk after working out and forget about it.

Got this bag, but after 2 weeks I decided to ditch it for the City Pack Pro instead. The lack of space after stuffing a pair of shoes in the shoe compartment meant that I had to squeeze in my other stuff like clothes, small items through the main and front compartments, which I didn't like. Pity as the bag looked damn good.
