whilst it can help this is actually a bad habit to get into resting you’re foot on the clutch, the only time you’re foot should be on or near the clutch is when you’re preparing to stop. this is because it can cause premature wear on the clutch. the best place to have your foot whilst driving is either the foot rest to the left of the clutch pedal as that’s what it is specifically designed for or flat on the floor infront of the clutch, whichever feels more comfortable for you 🙂

NEVER rest your foot on the clutch. That's what the dead pedal is for.

when I come to a stop I down shift sequentially down from whatever gear I'm in to first gear to the point where I barely have to use my brake, just at the end. That is if I have the space to do such. Is this a bad practice?
