a quick video of a repair to an original Gibson PAF (Patent Applied For) Humbucker.
Sorry for the quality, just had the gopro on my head as a bit of an after thought.
This is not a "how to" just a quick look at a "mystical" 59 PAF and see how they are not that "mystical" after all...

The Old originals had Mismatched coils. it was not until years later(around 1964) Gibson started using a fully automated winder with a shut off mechanism so the early Pre 1964 ones had unmatched coils.
I was surprised to see that you wound the slug coil so close in resistance to the working adjustable one?

I think its hilarious that people pay so much for a very inconsistent pickup. Some of them were\are great. . but there is a reason there is a pickup aftermarket. Many werent. Give me some 70's super distortions anyday!

that's cool, good to know --are they very different from the 57' classics on my es335?

I'm shore you are very good at what you do.
But if having a real '59 PAF, why not sending it to Gibson letting theire best guys taking care of it. Such a rare tresure
