Even if Phelo is not a Bala he comes from the same stomach of their mom as his brothers

I think maybe Phelo's life issues come from him using the Bala surname, instead of using either his mothers maiden surname or biological father's surname. The mother really confused this whole situation, due to her constantly wanting to be married to every man she meets.

The surname in the Xhosa culture is important his supposed to use his Mother's surname especially when he went to the bush. He was supposed to ukugoduswa first and then then the journey yokuthwasa maybe he did but why is he still a Bala?
