The fake coin has a basic error: the faces of the coin are the wrong way. A regular silver eagle should be turned top to bottom (or vice versa or vertically how you want to call it) to keep the faces pointing the right way. Other common coins like the maple leaf have to be turned left to right. The fake coin has to be turned left to right, hence not a regular silver eagle.

What i find so frustrating, is the fact that so much information is put out there regarding spotting counterfeits, yet hardly a week passes when i hear or see somebody has fallen into the trap and got scammed. Very sad indeed.

I have the exact same coin, I got it for $1.00 from the Wish app. It’s a really good looking fake, if someone snuck it into a tube and sold it, could very well pass for real

I gave my grandson a fake just like that and asked him if he wanted to pull a trick on my dad.Of course he did, cause we are a family of pranksters. He asked my dad if he wanted to buy it, my dad is partially blind so it was a good prank, my dad thought it was funny and gave my grandson $20.
