Thanks for starting this series, look forward to future episodes. Hope you keep it simple for people like me just getting their feet wet with "sketches" and having only used the Arduino IDE.

For those of you who installed everything right... but still doesn't see menu items in Visual Studio or Atmel Studio try following solution:

Either run the installer and click uninstall, then run again and click install.   or

1. Identify the folder where Visual Micro is installed, normally
2. Start your IDE (Visual Studio or Atmel Studio) and go to
3. Click on "Add" and add the installation folder you have identified above
4. Make sure "Allow Add-In components to load" is checked
5. Restart your IDE
Visual Micro should now be active

Nice tutorial, I did not know this existed before!

I allready use resharper (and if you're serious about Visual Studio programming, you should definately use it too) - does VAssist have any benefit beyond resharper?

HHHD, ever since your last video about visual micro, I have been using it, and I can't see how I was doing anything without it. I'm coding at more then twice the speed I was before! My only problem I'm having now is the code window hangs when I'm scrolling, but I'm pretty sure thats a problem with my laptop. Still great work and thank you!

There is some kind of free community edition of visual studio. I think, you can even sell the products, you make with it (if you don't make much money with it).

I have Visual Studio and Atmel Studio installed. Downloaded and installed Visual Micro, but it's not showing up in either IDE -- only to come here and waste more of my time to hear "setup is pretty easy, I'm not going to run through it." on a video titled "Visual Micro Tutorials #1: Setup"!
