In 1982 “The ‘I’ of the beholder” comics #511-515 was published in America. In this issue the story revolved around the Golden age vampire called Monk, who in ally with his sister vampire Dala puts up a plan. Monk was a plantation owner after the civil war in New Orleans. He and Dala were attacked by some vindictive slaves who were the followers of the voodoo rituals. These slaves transformed them into vampires. So Dala shows up in the comics #511 to execute this plan where she starts romancing Dick Grayson. During this time Batman is turned into a vampire by Monk and later he is cured by a serum by Father Green. Father Green was chasing Monk and Dala for a long time. He captures them at the end and departs to his destination with his captives.
This one is probably the first comic written on this subject. Later a group of American comics known as “The Batman and Dracula Trilogy” was published comprising of three comic stories - Batman and Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstream and Batman: Crimson mist.
The Batman- Red Rain :
In this comic frequent murders took place in the Gotham city. The victims were mostly homeless people of the city so Batman starts to investigate these serials murders when he discovers that all of them were killed by crushing their throats. He also finds out that the criminals were vampires belonging to the same family. During this time a former vampire named Tanya joins with Batman to save the Gotham city. In order to conquer the rogues Batman transforms himself into a vampire to acquire all their strengths but retains his humanity.
