You have to love these things if you're going to spend quality time with them :/

I played on a Bontempi drum machine at afterschool club many years ago and I also had
a drum machine module that came hard wired as part of Goodmans karaoke machine.
I remember at one time I wanted the newer Yamaha DD-55 but the drums sounds on these
Yamaha DDs are pretty much based on the same sort of drums in many Yamaha PSR/PSS keyboards.
The Yamaha DD-10 has a nice lofi charm to it though and the same could also be said about that
Bontempi drum machine from 1998. Seriously many of the 80s and early 90s Yamaha DD series
drum machines are an ideal affordable alternative to the professional Yamaha RX drum machines.

I had the yamaha dd-6 growing up along with a pss-300, and honestly it was just fun to listen to the preset patterns more than anything. digital drums always give me the urge to wear reflective silver jumpsuits.

Not bad piece of kit. I owned a DD-65 for a couple of years and sold though it were good enough.

Great review . I have the original DD6 . I used to use it for a drum track for my Jan’s . I recorded. But with it . DD6 was circa 1989 . Pretty decent rhythm machine for beginning guitarists . And can be had pretty cheaply now .

If you hook it up to Midi, you can do nice things with it. The internal sounds are poor.

long time no see. I got myself a yamaha dd55 last week, compared to this. kit, the dd55 is much better. look out for one of those kits because its a pretty good kit not only for beginners but it also has some unique features. given this kit is from 1995 I am not surprised that the actual midi tracks are not sounding write. best way to hear some of them is on the keyboard they were introduced on. most were introduced on the psr 520 and 620

The power plug on mine falls out if you play too vigorously. Haven't used it in quite a while, but haven't been able to let it go for some reason.
