Depending on your calculator, your answer may be different. Here we use π=3.141592654 to get 254.47. If you used π=3.14 the answer would be 254.34 which is also correct.

hi, thanks for your feedback. i re-checked for you. only when pi = 3.141592654 is the above answer correct. if the pi you are using is (pi = 3.14) then your answer is correct.

I'm sure this is a dumb question. Why is it r² and not x by the diameter? If my 6in diameter pipe is now multiplied by 9 instead of 6? I just to know how many gallons I can fit in a 4inx10ft pvc pipe.

@Patrick Molden he was right. Your answer is also right but his is more correct. He used the actual button Pi. You used 3.14.
