First, thankyou for taking the time to produce FREE, quality-made PC DIY videos. Second, followed all steps, seems to have sped up the browsing experience a tad however the "speakeasy" speed test seems to have a glitch. i live in OH so Chicago is closer however when i did the test after the tweaks the dwnload was slighlty slower and upload was slighty faster. I then chose washington dc which showed a higher download and upload than the first test.

Thanks man!! Before I follow your steps my speed was download 2.00 Mbps and upload 0.45 Mbps and after following the steps the down speed became 4.00 Mbps and the up 0.61!!! Thank you!!

How do you do the tutorial screens (Sorry, I Don't know a better way of explaining it) the ones with the curser. Do you use software, or is it just very long and skilled editing with screenshots? :)

I'm using OpenDNS at the moment and it's just working fine. I found your video about the DNS Benchmark, and I find out that OpenDNS isn't the fastest in my case! So I got a question, what are the differences between the green sport and the kinda brown spot in the DNS Benchmark?

@DearsRenRen The bar indicates the time it takes to load the page. So the short the bar the faster the time the longer the bar the slower the time.

The bandwidth of your cable/dsl depends partially on how many people are using it at that particular time in your area. More people/teens use the internet in the afternoon hours so you have to share with more people. Also, I have heard that ISP's will limit your bandwidth to accommodate more people in peak hours. (Noob response with some validity)

probably because more people are using the phone line that you are connected to in the afternoon, and so more information from the houses down your street is having to be sent down it. So it is slower.

probably the DNS settings you used - reset them and either try some others or just dont use a default.

@MEDLI123 If your question regards the part with the netstat command: When, under Windows Vista or 7, creating a file on the C:\ drive directly, you need Administrator privileges. You can try out placing the file on your desktop instead.

Wow. Thanks for this. My download speed went from 728 to 1823kbps. I suppose I should've ran the test directly after each test. But this looks like a culmination of all tests. Any yet I haven't restarted my PC after doing the winsock reset. Once again, thanks for the tips.
