My niece read the Hunger Games trilogy, after she told us her favorite character was Prim, we started the last book. her older brother and I (the only ones in the house to have read the books) kept looking over her shoulder as she was nearing the end… he let her punch his arm and I held her.

Not only am I an avid reader, but I taught Reading and English for years. It was so hard to keep my mouth shut and not ruin books for my daughter by giving the ending away or any plot twists. I didn't censor her reading but checked in periodically if I thought a book might be distressing. Now that she is an adult, it's a great joy to share our enthusiasm for books..

JUST HAD THIS EXPERIENCE! The last couple weeks, my daughter has been reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and she knew I've read them all and so there were daily conversations about what she just read. So it has been an absolute delight playing along every time she got mad about Sirius Black or said, "Poor Peter Pettigrew!" (She was so sad!😂) she finished it the other day and was like, "YOU KNEW!" 😂😂😂😂😂 it was the best! 😁

Bridge to Terabithia broke my heart. My teacher at the time who I loved to talk with about books was the only person that I knew who had read and watched the movie. I told her the next Monday after I watched it. Every time I watch it no matter how long it's been or if I know it's coming I still cry. "Next time we should bring Leslie, she'd like that."
