With just some weight on the wheel and the seatbelt clicked in, Autopilot had no problem running without a driver present.

If you go out of your way to manipulate the system whatever happens after that is the fault of the driver. It’s driver ASSISTANCE.

We need to stop pretending like it's the company's job to prevent us from being dumb. All we're doing is making smarter idiots.

So you’re tricking a car into doing something the car tells you is wrong. How is this Tesla’s fault?

This is like saying that you can use a fork to injure someone.

First of all, it's not "easy". He had to defeat several systems to do what he did.
Second, as of the publication of this video it has already been reported that it was not Autopilot and could not have been Autopilot. The car telemetry proves that.

Defeating autopilot is dishonest, and the drivers fault.

You can also put a brick on the gas petal on a regular car

A camera can be fooled too. If someone wants to override the system they'll figure out a way...

Tesla auto pilot and FSD are currently a driver assist feature.
The car can not drive itself. The driver is still completely responsible to control the vehicle at all times.
Regulators have not approved full self driving vehicles and the software from Tesla.
At some point in the future Tesla will update the software and the regulators will approve it. Until then the driver is 100% responsible for controlling the vehicle. You must agree to control the vehicle before adding the feature to the car. There are also other safety features that require you to demonstrate that you are actively paying attention and controlling the vehicle.

Wow is it just me or is her voice soothing in that pitch/ tone? It sounds like she could be an audiobook reader or the voice for a voice assistant lol

It's easier in a 1990 Camry. Just find a brick!

As people won't follow health guidelines, they sure as hell won't follow safety guidelines for self driving cars.

I may not be the right person to display any type of stats on this subject but I question firstly about how many of these issues are actually due to human error and poor judgement. Obviously the illustration in this video is clearly about human thinking (or the lack of it for that matter). I am not a Tesla fan by any means (or any brand for that matter), but why blame the manufacturer for human error and get the state involved in making yet more laws.

This is so stupid. you can also put a brick on the pedal in another car and have way worse results
