The older I get the more bittersweet thinking about older maplestory and seeing the community being nostalgic about it everything gets. Somehow for me back then felt more like the real world than it is now. I felt more real, the emotions thoughts and experiences were all so significant.

I don't know why I'm crying as I'm writing this but I am. I can only wish the people I met and the community that once existed will still remain in many hearts

To me, the saddest part is those days are gone forever. Unlike a single player game on a console that you can load up years from now, we will never, ever have the experience of 05-07 Maple again. Due to a variety of reasons, private servers can never recreate the experience we had. That's why to me, listening to just the music is more nostalgic than trying to recreate the experience on a private server.

2005~2008까지 초등학교 에서 중학교에 걸쳐서 메이플에 미쳐 있었는데 진짜 그 때 추억이 새록새록 떠오르네요 지금이야 진짜로 여행을 다니지만, 이 땐 공부하고 학교끝나고 놀고 오면 집에서 이런 브금 들으면서 메이플하는게 여행 다니는것 마냥 모험 하는 기분도 들고 즐거웠었죠. 지금은 게임에 흥미가 없어서 메이플 시작해볼까하고 게임 깔고 10분하고 나면 재미없어서 바로 지우는데 ...이 때 레벨업도 잘 안되고 게임 자본모으기도 힘들었지만 이 때 메이플 했던것 만큼 미치게 해본 게임이 이거 이후론 없었네요.

Back when Maplestory was a social game, where PQ's were the thing to do, grinding together, hene-hoeing, god damn I miss old Maplestory.

I used to binge Maplestory so much. Some days I would spend 16 hours playing just to get to level 30 and experience that feeling of finally getting your second job skills. Back then for me, as a 6-year-old, ability points were not really strategized, but rather put into what ability looked "the coolest to use". People used to spam the full-map skills in Free Market and I would think about how cool they look. I feel like the game itself is so different and buggy nowadays that post-Big-Bang players can't really feel what it felt like to play before Big Bang. Maplestory now is more of "get to the highest level" rather than "socialize in ToT or Henesys or Free Market. I rmbr Monster Carnival and the old Mushroom Kingdom and all the times spent hiding from the Balrogs on what seemed like a 10 minute trip to Orbis that there was no way out of. Max level was 200, and for Cygnus Knights and special classes, it was 120. Maplestory is IMO too easy now, which is good. But lvl 100 doesn't give you that satisfaction from months in front of the computer... Sorry that was long but pre-Big-Bang Maplestory holds a special place in my heart. Hope they bring it back.

I'm not as old as everyone here is. I never played Maplestory in its golden days, I wasn't even born yet before the big bang. Yet, I still feel nostalgic listening to these songs. There's something about the audio compression and the sounds used that feeds my desire of going back to 2000-2015. The music from almost every Flash game or online game used to be like this. I can feel how the producer put his heart onto making this music and I just know that he was dedicated and devoted to his job, I wish I could hear more of him and I wish I could have been a Mapler.

I often imagine how the game used to be reading these comments, I also wish I could've met some of these people. :(

It reminds me of a simple time that I can never go back to. I'm 20 years old now, and I have no idea what I'm doing with my life. I feel so lost, I tried to play Maple today and it was so empty, made me feel like everyone grew up and found their way in life. I'm sorry it's such a sad comment I'm just.. lost.

The nostalgia is real.. i only played this game for about 2-3 years almost 10 years ago but I still think about it. I used to spend 8+ hours a day, playing my cleric/bishop (a class that seemingly no longer exists).
