I got one at an Amazon takeback sale. 3 bucks but it has a guitar cable output. so do I just use a guitar amp as output for louder sound?

So do you need to have a preamp in order to make the sound louder then to just hooking the turntable straight into the speakers.

Hey,
I have that pre amp but i cant amplify the sound. my speakers cable is a jack 3, 5 so i used a rca adapter which connected to the pre amp. the turntable is connected to the pre amp by the input. but i cant amplify the sound! am i doing anything wrong?
