Do you know how Salacious Crumb got his name? According to Phil Tippett, he and some other members of the crew went to lunch during the production of Return of the Jedi. They had some drinks, and after getting a little buzzed, Phil realized his shoelaces had come untied. He told his friends he needed to tie them, but couldn’t quite say shoelaces, instead saying salacious. They thought it sounded funny for a name, George agreed, and it became the name of Jabba’s court jester. #starwars

Great to know how alcohol and shoe laces created a legendary character, and adding crumb to it make it even better.

This is bizarre. Inspiration can be found anywhere! Shoe laces are legendary now.

A little buzzed? Haha if you’re slurring shoe laces to salacious than I’d guess that’s a little more than a little buzzed 😂

In-universe, his name was given to him by an imperial recruiter who found his behavior quite lewd

Rumour has it, the surname ‘Crumb’ was added because of the pizza crust all around Tippett’s mouth.

I seriously doubt that Salacious Crumb is dead. I know it says that he was eaten by the Sarlacc but let’s be real, this guy is hard to kill.

Any idea what his middle initial stands for?
(Because isn't his full name Salacious B. Crumb?)

Here’s a tip did you see salacious crumb eating C-3PO?

Well if you can believe that nonsense you'll believe anything. But then most here will probably think Hayden Christenson's head shoe-horned onto Sebastian Shaw's body is a wonderful thing. Salacious is actually an English word with a particular meaning, which kinda goes with the whole Slave Leia thing. Crumb can only be a reference to comic book writer Robert Crumb, who could easily have dreamt the whole thing up, (and would have laughed his socks off at the shoe-laces thing.)
