Place a prismatic shard shard over and over and over again on a table and have the other person constantly pick it up. It tends to duplicate it which is overpowered in money and friendship sense Way too op for me but have fun

Yes, just yes. I play with my boyfriend and we officially have the farm of our dreams. I do the smart and decorating part while he explores and gets resources.We finally have a baby and the house is complete, we even achieved first-rate farm perfection.

Another set of reasons stardew coop is great that are not just item duping.

Staggering tool upgrades combined with tool trading allows you to still have a tool while one is upgrading, for example you can upgrade your pick and still hit the mines by borrowing a friends pick while yours is in the shop whereas normally you are unable to mine unless you have an insane number of bombs to use.

Division of tasks, since everybody can water eachothers crops, somebody can take care of that giving another extra hours and energy in the mines early game or give somebody more energy for clearcutting trees on the farm, an earlier start to the days fishing, etc.

Cooping in the mines for speedy decents, given equally prepared miners you can mine around roughly twice as fast or have one harvesting while the other fights creatures instead of having to juggle those actions constantly when solo.

Making use of more perks, for example in farming there are 2 inital paths, 1 leading you to animals products being worth more and the other towards vegtables being worth more, it gets more indepth on perk round 2 where if you had a full farm you could have one of every perk.

In game conversation I had with him:
“Walter, when can we get food. I don’t want to eat algae”.
“Shut up Jesse, we’re making bank.
“Walter, I’m hungry please stop buying flower seeds”.

the time never stopping is literally the only downside to co op

I think Co-op is unnessesary. Who needs friends when you have NPC's and your pet? :.)

That’s why me and my brother play together all the time and just duplicate sprinklers and crop seed (using tables)

Not to mention how, with the right settings, the farm earns double or even triple the amount of money, even if there's only two players.

Double loot when performing action at the same time is common bug in many badly programmed co op games

Literally the only item dupe my friends and I have done was just duplicating the Owl statue, first by accident when fighting over it, and then intentionally so we could decorate the farm with it lol

the sprinkler thing works with literally anything that you can make drop via tool

when my friends and used to do stardew co-op worlds we would get the statue that generates iridium and copy those enough times to where we each get our own shed filled with them
