Wow I just got the parable..
Martha was working to do something wonderful for Jesus by cooking or whatever..
Mary was not living by bread alone but by every word from the mouth of God. Spiritual food
She chose wisely.

We ourselves must be selfless to try n help. Martha was in a right place of service unto others, she should’ve been content with her servitude, but the house was probably crowded, the disciples of The Lord we’re not just 12, however, The Lord is saying, be at peace in your service to others, something that’s not easy🙏

I often feel like God doesn't care about my struggles and my struggles are causing me distress.

If Martha was struggling to serve and believed that was a duty both she and Mary were duty-bound to perform, then is it as much a pity party as much as misplaced indignation?

Jesus didn't indicate anything about self pity, or even that Martha was overall wrong in her concern, all things being equal. Rather, learning from and following Jesus was far superior to normal duties; which Mary chose.

Could repentance be considered a pity party?
