You guys NEED to try some Puerto Rican food. I’m a Puerto Rican from the island and I’ll recommend you a restaurant in Oakland Park, FL called “La Empanada Loca”.

Here’s a list of food you guys MUST try:

- Mofongo with your choice of protein. I recommend the mofongo with shrimp (camarones al ajillo, aka Shrimp scampi)

- Alcapurrias (it’s like an empanada, but made with plantain)

- Tripleta Sandwich (it’s a 3 meat sandwich, very popular street food here in the island)

- Chuleta Kan kan (3lb of whole belly pork)

- And of course the empanadas, I personally like the pizza one.
