I just bought this car yesterday because that’s all I can afford. It’s a pretty nice car couple of scratches inside and the door is broken but they’re fixing that but I cannot figure out this CarPlay thing I’ve tried connecting it and it does nothing else. Maybe that’s broken too. I hope this video helps.

Hi, I have a 2017 Elantra that worked fine with Android Auto. I upgraded to an iPhone 8 Plus and when I plug it in for Apple CarPlay, my voice button on the steering wheel doesn’t work nor does Amazon Music. I didn’t have any issues with Android. Thanks!

Spencer, maybe you can tell me. 2017 Elantra and Iphone 8+ (IOS11) will not allow MAPs navigation when cable is disconnected (normal on will not take calls if the cable IS connected (due to bluetooth disconnecting.)New Thoughts or solution? Oh and the button for voice command does nothing at all.

Spencer, the CarPlay app on my 2017 Elantra (Popular package) multimedia screen is grayed out, as well as android auto.

Even after connecting with lightning cable. In my iPhone 6 with iOS 9.3 the settings for CarPlay doesn't have a "turn on/off" slider button. It's just a screen that says "if the car supports wireless CarPlay press and hold the hands free button on steering wheel to set up CarPlay"

Any insight?

We got the 20167 Elantra with the "Value Edition" without BlueLink. In the Car Multimedia System users manual on page 8-8, it shows how to connect the car to a wireless home network or mobile access point. I did this successfully, giving the car access to the Internet.. I was hoping it would open up some Internet capability features or enhanced device connectivity, but so far I can't see any benefit of doing it. Can you tell me what this feature is good for?
