Super clean dt250. Love it.
Always take it slow till that muscle memory builds. Before you know it. Throttle and brake control happen without thought.

Glad you've got the helmet. I've got a variety of friends who have taken spills, and they all swear by leathers or Kevlar now. Much cheaper than skin grafts.

Flow with the bike.

Has someone told you about standing up on the pegs when you're going over rough terrain? If not, ask someone who rides Enduro or just does cow-trailing.

Happy riding! Bob

Great video! One of the most common issues new riders face is taking their feet off the pegs too much because they feel the bike leaning! Try to focus on keeping your feet up because taking a peg to the back of the leg is brutal!

My first vehicle was a 75 Honda 350XL. It too was a dual sport bike. I lived in the mountains so thats where I learned primarily to ride it. I was 16. Now im 56 and purchased a 1978 Honda 350xl Same model style as the one I had. You're gonna love it. they are so easy to ride in comparison to a big road bike like a Harley sportster or similar, not to say you cant do it, heck my sister who is 5 years younger than me owns 3 Harleys. No joke. she's hardcore and barely 5'3".

Hold the grips like theres a butterfly between your hands & the grips. Keep reminding yourself that.
Relax and enjoy😁💚

Bought my first motor cycle a new 125 Yamaha Enduro in 1972 then a couple of years later upgraded to a 1972 360 Yamaha Enduro. I had a blast on duel sport motorcycle and had several street bikes. I had a bad fall ( off a ladder not a motorcycle) 25 years ago. I had to give up riding for years. I have regained
Strength and am starting to ride again. Got a Yamaha tw200. The smaller dual sports are the bikes I had the most fun on.
I recommend taking a riding class. I am going to even though I rode for many years. Also buy and use the safety gear. Have a blast.

OMG I had the smaller cousin of this bike the Yamaha TY80 as my first ever bike in the mid 1990's when I was 6 years old. Amazing seeing a 70's two stroke bike in 2024. Now riding a CBR600 Sport. Two wheels is the most fun!
