I always love these videos, I just got more into tabletop gaming a few years ago and I have played the more popular board games (betrayal at house on the hill, ticket to ride, love letter, etc.) and I love that you showcase games that I have never even heard of and explain how they work! You should look into Millenium Blades. It's a game all about simulating card shops and prepping for tournaments.

They use symbols to save money on localisation. You don't have to have independent print runs for different languages, just use different indexes.

I bought Thief's Market because theres so many custom dice! I like the symbols though but texts should be fine. I enjoy the game especially at full player count

The symbols thing is probably for playability in any country. Cheaper to reprint a rule book or cheat sheet than the entire game to sell in another country.

i agree. tasty minsrel makes great games but the use of symbols instead of text is frustrating while learning. sometimes your friends just wanna stop playing altogether because we're taking sooo long trying to figure out the symbols.

Symbols are cheaper then text, all you need to do is print the symbols card in a different language not all the cards. That is why they do it.

My mom got me the game for Christmas and I'm a complete noob. It'd be cool to see you talk about it. Admittedly, I'm super out of touch with Korean culture and I can barely understand Korean. I actually know and speak more Spanish than Korean because I work with Hispanic folks. My landlords speak exclusively Korean and I can kinda understand them, but just barely.
