This is 49-year-old Julio Soto, a teacher at the Orange County Castle Creek Elementary School, accused of touching his students inappropriately. The only evidence, in the beginning, was the complaint made by the 11-year-old, but in the interrogation that you’re about to see, we want you to be the judge presiding over this man’s not guilty plea. By the end, you’ll have the knowledge of this case, the interrogation overall, and the actual verdict to help you realize whether the school’s “Awesome Teacher” was guilty or not.

On February 13th 2019, a student of Mr. Soto, who shall remain nameless, sprained her arm in her physical education class because of which she couldn’t take part in the activities. She was sitting out to the side when Soto approached her and asked her to come upstairs and fix her test. She agreed to go with him to his classroom, which was on the second floor. When they got upstairs, the girl claimed Soto telling her that he was going to “try to find her tickle spot” and began touching her above the clothing and eventually underneath it. When she told him to stop, he replied “Oh ok” and stopped, but did it again and again.

Soto went back to his desk while the girl finished her test. When she was done, he told her there were two minutes left of the physical education class and that she should go back downstairs. The girl initially didn’t tell her parents because she was afraid of how they would react. But eventually told her friends because she “couldn’t take it anymore”.

Soto was taken into custody at a Publix shopping plaza about 2 miles away from the school. The officer spoke briefly with him about the case and it was the same detective who was now in the interrogation room with him the next day.

It feels so wrong that they are allowed to lie during interrogations. It makes me wonder how many false confessions have come out because of this

It’s funny he said I’ll swear on a Bible. The detective, ‘I don’t care about the Bible right now’ 10 mins later, ‘we’re all sinners and fall short of the glory’ LOLOL

When detectives badger you and tell you over and over that you did wrong, you can’t talk them out of it without proof. He should’ve asked for his lawyer waaaay sooner…

Weather he is guilty or not, this female cop is so guilty of coercing him.

Note to self: After watching so many interviews/interrogations, if they ever says “I don’t believe you’re the kind/type of person to do this” they 100% believe you’re the type of person who did it 😂

Do people really think middle school kids are incapable of colluding or lying about things?

I had a female teacher used to bully me, I told my parents and my dad went to see her, she put her arm round me and spoke nice and soft so he thought I was telling lies not to go to school, anyway as I got older I went in another class, then one day there was a bit of a incident, it apperas she went off her head and was shouting and tranting, they had to drag her out of the classroom, I never saw her again. When my parents found out they realised I was telling the truth, I'm 75 now but I always remember her.

If you’re guilty you need a lawyer, if you’re innocent you really need a lawyer.

Happened in my hometown. Years later the girl admitted she made it up because she was mad at him. He spent years in jail, ruined his life. False accuser's never get in trouble for lying, so there's nothing to lose on their end.

Rule #1 in ANY criminal investigation ever, ALWAYS, ASK FOR AN ATTORNEY! DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME TALKING TO THESE FOLKS. GUILTY OR NOT. ESPECIALLY NOT GUILTY FOLKS.

I don’t know if this guy is guilty or not. If he is- of course put him away. But this interrogation was crazy and awful and has me thinking he’s innocent. Can’t believe he waited that long to ask for a lawyer

One of the first things I learned in the military... No poly, no waiver, no statement. No matter how "innocent" you think you are, SHUT UP! Don't do their job for them. I've interogatted a lot of people and most of the time I went in with no physical evidence, but after the interview, I usually had new charges avialable.

Fact of the matter is this. School age kids, for any number of reasons, DO invent stories like this. I went to high school with a girl who was always considered the teachers pet, and there were rumors that they had an inappropriate relationship all over the school. I knew this girl very well and got to know her even more closely as the years went on. One day, for whatever reason, she starts acting out, crocodile tears, acting withdrawn, etc. She says that the teacher made a move on her but she shut it down or whatever. Long story short, she spread a lie based on rumors she knew already existed. And why? Because he had suddenly stopped giving her so much attention having caught wind of what people were saying about a possible inappropriate relationship, and she was hurt by it. Kids don’t always realize the implications of such stories, and she later admitted to me she never thought about the fact he could have been criminally investigated or charged based on her lie. She just wanted to “get back at him for being so cold” to her for no reason. So yes, kids, even kids as young as middle school, do lie for stupid, petty, and sometime for no real reason whatsoever.,

I was a teacher (male) for many years, and in this day and age the golden rule is never touch the kids, and never be alone with a kid if you can help it. For any male teacher, teaching kids from around eight years old to preteens can be an absolute minefield. From the moment you step into the school every morning, to when you leave in the evening, you must proactively protect yourself from malicious accusations. I've seen a few careers (and lives) wrecked simply because the teacher didn't follow these simple rules. This man should not have allowed himself to be interviewed by police officers without a lawyer present. Another big mistake...

If you are ever in an interview room with police, just repeat after me…. I would like a lawyer please. So many people would be better off not even talking to police. It never ceases to amaze me how many people go into those rooms thinking they are doing the right thing by talking but bury themselves deeper and deeper, just because they don’t want to look guilty by requesting a lawyer. I just can’t believe it.

Your guilt and your innocence has nothing to do with your right to a lawyer. Get one.
