I just bought a very lightly used brooks B17 on ebay, it arrives tomorrow. I plan on using some Bicks 4 first and then following that up with some Bicks Heavy Duty Leather Preservative, and then hitting it with a blow dryer for about a minute to allow the Bicks HD LP to penetrate the leather better.

Great unboxing. My question for you, sir, is, do you still have to wear padded cycling shorts with your brooks saddles? I absolutely HATE padded cycling shorts 😒
I've always used neatsfoot oil on my lineman boots, and I'm planning on continuing to do so on a Brooks saddle.
Those boots have always lasted 10+ years, so I figure, don't fix what ain't broke. That 10+ years, of course, includes getting wet in the rain, even slogging through mud puddles. 🤷
And, yes, that is a beautiful saddle. 🥰
And there it is! 😃 toward the end, you said you don't use padded cycling shorts! HURRAAAY! YES! 🥰 sold

Why didn’t you consider the brooks professional saddle which would have also been narrow. Also not sure if you’ve tried the swift but I’m curious how it compares.

Is there any chance that the carved model will tear? I'm going to buy a b17 and I'm scared that the leather will tear when sitting.

Gilles Bertoud saddles are superior imo.
