how to play Something Like Olivia PROPERLY

Been playing this song for a while now so I thought I'd share some of my tips to recreate the groovy, palm-muted goodness that is something like olivia. Put this together pretty quickly so the audio isn't great (my room isn't that conducive to good acoustic recordings), but hopefully its useful!

The key tip here is tip 2, if you listen closely to the original he uses this technique quite a lot to add a groovy, percussive type of feel.

1. Fucking amazing job picking it apart and putting together for us YouTube learners.

2. This is a perfect example of a song sounding simplistic and basic (and still awesome)when played in a band. But when you just do the guitar locks alone, they are deceptively badass, conversational, and very tricky if you don't know what you are doing. I love John bc he is doing this complex lick after lick, sounding so good, but content to bury into the general mix of the band. No need to blast everyone with the guitar.
