I don't understand why people in the comments say "this is not art"
Art, my dear friend, is a concept so huge, so wide, it can't be specified to some certain things, such as realism.
I take this video as an example of how you can create an abstract painting. Pure technique. What you do with it next is up to you, that's why abstract art is so amazing. There are GALLERIES dedicated to abstract kind of art, so before you call something "worthless" or "not art" just think twice and remember that Art is an enormous concept, with endless possibilities, techniques, processes etc. It's not just a realistic painting of a naked person holding an apple.

I thought the while point of this was to give, here it comes, BEGGINERS, the concept, the basic idea, of how to create an abstract. Art itself is very abstract. Ppl sit in a glass box for days and call it art. I've seen painting that looked like a toddler made it with finger paints and sell for thousands. Art is a concept. Art is whatever ppl perceive to be art. I do understand that there are techniques and skill involved for those whom want to learn and really want to take their art to its highest potential, but that doesn't make it ok to degrade anyone else's work. This may not be a piece you like, but this person still made an effort to tap into their creative side. Stop being a dark cloud and a bully. If the criticism can't be constructive and kind, then just be quiet. Art is art.

I used to think abstract art was silly and didn't consider it art until I tried it and got hooked. It is so relaxing and freeing and surprising difficult to make(for me) yet I keep at it and enjoy the process. A lot of abstracts I make are absolutely terrible, but once in a while I make something that looks really special(again, to me) and my love for the art grows.

It can get really expensive, using so much paint, but it's worth it. And those bashing it, if they could make hundreds or thousands or millions making something that is "not art" I bet they would do it in a heartbeat.

While reading through the comments it's come to my attention people are being extremely rude. You obviously have no idea about art. Art can be absolutely anything! There is so many different styles of art, and to me abstract art actually looks quite difficult. You all seriously need to think about the amount of time and effort which has been put into this. And you need to try and make something like this! It takes a very creative mind to make it look this good. Xx

Thanks for making the video. The heavy amount of black kinda looks like Japanese calligraphy, in a good way. I liked that you make it easy to see the techniques you were using to apply paint; the really light brush strokes for specs of color. You miss a lot of that in most videos because they're sped up too fast or the camera is too far back.

Amazing!!! I would personally lay the painting down instead of vertically as she did (totally a personal opinion, to each his own! ) . it reminded me of a landscape in that a body of water surrounded by pine and oak trees who mirror their reflection in the still waters at dusk, from the point of view of one who is looking out at life with a very "black and white" approach during their meditation time while drinking a cup of earl grey tea. Or perhaps a more somber point of view, perhaps there is heartache and pain as they look out the window to the view from their cabin that chilly foggy overcast evening because life loses its luster when you've been lied to.

Lol sorry i need sleep but thanks for the inspiration, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, true artists ignore trolls.
