Hello my lovelies! Today's song is called 'The Cursed Ones'.

The most famous ghost ship in literature is the Flying Dutchman, the earliest mentions of which date back to the 17th century. The appearance of the flying Dutchman is said to be an omen of doom, and those who have claimed to see the ship, describe it as ghostly, spectral vessel with tattered sails, glowing lanterns and a ghostly crew.

The captain of the ship, who was called Hendrick Van Der Decken, was a proud and stubborn man. He refused to heed to his crew when a terrible storm approached. Despite their pleading, the captain refused to turn back to seek shelter, and instead, he defied the elements and cursed God. As the result of his blasphemy, everyone aboard the ship were doomed to sail the seven seas forever, unable to make port. According to the legend, the curse can be lifted if the ghost ship finds a crew member who is willing to take captain’s place and take on the cruse. The other version claims that if the ghost ship ever makes port, it will be a sign of the end of the world.

To be honest, I can’t help but wonder if the legend of the ship describes, in fact, a human life. Unable to restrain our own arrogance and pride, we doom ourselves and others who depend on us to suffer the mighty tempests, that will undoubtedly come our way as the result of our poor choice. Stranded in the vast waters of life, with no light in sight, and no hope in heart, we roam the world wrapped in our own agony, like the ship enveloped in dark mists, waiting for a kind souls to free us from our own curse.

Beautiful! Ghost ships are my favorite kind of ghost. The ocean is very alien and dangerous, so finding a still-floating vessel out and about amidst the wind and waves is a horror unto itself. I still remember finding the one in Wind Waker, it gave me some great chills.
