I've had the X1 25D M-SPORT for just over 18mths I still love driving it like I did on the 1st day I got it, it's nice to have a bit of power under my right foot, it's rapid enough to have some serious fun on those windy B roads, but just remember it's an SUV and not a sports coupé and you won't end up visiting the inside of a tree before those pearly gates, the fuel economy suffers quite a bit but that's to be expected in any car, its very comfortable on a long run and I especially like the electric seat side bolsters that can grip your body in the corners if you so wish, then when set in the wide position they make for a nice relaxed comfortable long run, they are an easy way of making any sized person able to be comfortable. I have the adaptive suspension which is worth every penny you can really feel the difference between comfort and sports settings, the panoramic sunroof is great at making the car feel nice and airy for the back seat passengers, and a little wind in the hair for the front readers... the Harmon Kardon sound upgrade is also great value, obviously it's not the best in the world but it's still a good selection and handles all sorts of music easily. The only downside is the options list can add up very quickly so just be aware of that. I still love the way it handles and the 25d's turn of speed is absolutely brilliant for a car of this size, oh and if you stay away from the run flats it won't have that annoying noise most people complain of. Yes it's expensive but I think it's worth every penny knowing it's the class leader and every other SUV in this class just isn't as good... or as fast.

Have the old generation fully loaded. I disagree with your comments on the old one. Depending on the lifestyle there is not always a reason to upgrade and keep throwing money in the toilet to have 2 cm extra space and small bits and pieces here and there. These reviews sound like my contractor when you call them for a small job " you knoooww, we can leave this wall here but once, you ll watch tv, the whole house will fall on your head. Cars after 2016 copy the philosophy of Apple, every 6 months a new car or body kit or new extras. And then we are never satisfied with what we have in life.

I love the car but only am bothered by the whistling wind noise from the side mirror or windscreen ? What causes it ? Any ideas how to get rid of it ?

The x1 is actually quite fun to drive in sport mode just has a huge turbo delay but the handling is classic BMW

Adjustable lumbar support is optional on most of the cars on the market anyway, even on special models.

i dont like that you need to press everytime the automode for the glasswipers for when it rains and when you put it on it doesnt work on the back glass its an apart button for that too but if you out it on it doesnt stop and the gearbox is too big for automatic

Once decently equipped this is the same price as the 330 wagon. Similar room and beats it in every way. Had a brand new X1 as a service loaner during my 1 year oil change and couldn't wait to get my 330 back.

Guys you need to correct your facts the Auto gearboxes are 8 speed

These electric handbrakes, do they automatically release? If so do all manufactures do automatically release handbrakes.
