For longer than he can remember, John Clark (Richard Gere) has led a dull existence. Even with a successful career, charming wife and loving family, he still feels something is missing. We in Ukraine currently experience intermittent blackouts because of the russian onslaught. But guess what - I have a notebook and several DVDs. Just yeaterday I watched this movie again and its like a breath of fresh air, like peace-time life. Great acting, funny characters.

This movie is beyond perfect! I've never seen a movie like this before. It's got everything in it – love, passion, music, perfect camera shots, outfits, dance, comedy, and more. Richard Gere deserves a ton of credit for his performance here. Man can dance! Jennifer Lopez was just great. Susan & Stanley... these two just won me. The whole cast was brilliant. I'd recommend this film to any next man/woman, regardless of your preference.
Even the actors must consider themselves lucky to have worked in this movie. It's a rare one. Outta words!

I watched this film today for an assignment I am working on but I ended up loving this film. The characters, their stories, and the dancing of course we couldn't forget about that. It is a masterpiece! I do wish to see movies like this now. I also wished that I was introduced to this movie earlier. But I am still happy to watch this. 10/10 good movie, good lessons, great casting!

The music is “Santa Maria” from Gotan Project. I first heard it on World Service about 35 years ago. It was the closing track on a wool music programme at around 03.40, it lasted 20 minutes and next morning I spent the day, finding it. It mesmerises me.
