I remember when my dad and I were in his truck one day and he had told me, “play this song at my funeral” and he turned the volume up. I didn’t pay much attention to the song but little did I know... I lost my dad on Aug 8th and I’ve been praying and hoping to remember what song he wanted. Then, the other day I was with my cousin, she played this song because it had reminded her of my dad, and that’s when I knew this was the song he asked me to play.

A fellow high school graduate of mine unexpectedly passed away on December 16, 2019. From Kindergarten to college, I grew up along side her and other friends. She had so much going for her and was just 21 years old and graduated college before me. She was super close to finally achieving her dream job and goal. After being in the hospital for months of surgeries and rehabilitation therapy, she was getting ready to return home and continue her studies, but after 15 years of fighting against a disorder called Neurofibromatosis, she took her last breath on that fateful day and passed from the earth leaving her friends and loved ones behind.
