At some point I want to replace my backplate for a transparent one, both for the looks and better cooling. Might get the rgb because why not! Im not the biggest fan but it cant hurt as a feature

its amazing, sadly it pains me that im not a fan of transparent stuff, never liked the idea u_u maybe someday they make one with only the grips transparent or something along those lines

How are the lights powered? Do theuyhave their own power source or is it somehow making contact with the sd power supply?

From what I know having a vent over the APU robs other components of airflow. The APU will be cooler, but other components will be hotter. You need a thermal imaging device to properly review for the Steam Deck.

It was in vain to remove the Kapton tape from the backlight control board - it is glued so that the boards do not accidentally touch each other

It doesn’t fit on the led model due to a piece with a cw on it trying to find a work around
