Switching to iPhone after being a long-term Android user back in 2017 was one of the hardest things I did. I was changing to an all new ecosystem and my disdain for Apple was at an all-time high....

But I was willing to give it a chance...and I've finally made this video to tell you my story. There are some reasons that have convinced me to make this switch and I think they are worth going over in this video so you can be informed if you are thinking of making the switch.

What has been your experience if you are in the Apple iOS or Android ecosystem? Are you thinking of switching?

Just adding to your video: I’ve been an Android user since 2010, going through Motorola, Sony, and Samsung. I was going to try the iPhone for the first time after buying an iPad and loving the experience, but last year I decided to get an S24 Ultra instead.

My impression today, with Samsung, is that I feel like a beta tester for them. The camera has had issues since launch, and they ignore users when we request support or ask them to investigate the problems. To this day, it hasn’t been resolved.

Samsung has DeX, which turns the smartphone into a PC, but DeX doesn’t work properly. I used it during a trip, connected via cable, and the connection kept dropping, forcing me to reconnect and restart whatever I was doing. The idea is good, but again, poorly executed. Samsung announced they’re removing DeX in the next major update (One UI 7) just because they feel like it.

What you said about consistency and updates, which I’ve experienced with my iPad, is something that completely changes the user experience. And in this race among some Android brands trying to be the first to launch new technologies, the experience ends up being completely compromised.

My next smartphone will be an iPhone, even with the hardware limitations and lack of freedom.
For me, freedom doesn’t matter if you don’t have consistency and quality.

Funny thing is Google had also a photo sync soft for PC. Even tho it wasnt so direct as apples, it worked very good ... But they discontinued it, like many other things.

Hopefully it doesn't take me 8 years to adopt to the iPhone. I am loving the ecosystem. And yes the smoothness and refinement on the iPhone is unparallelend. BUT it doesn't hold a candle to my Galaxy Phone as it relates to functionality and adapatbility. I am shocked at how dated the OS feels. Basic things like the keyboard and simply going back or using it with one hand feels like the stone age, . I'm actulaly shocked at the lack of functioanlity on the iPhone.

Am I the only Apple user who likes the exclusivity of lightning cables?
Don’t get me wrong I appreciate the fact that USB C is faster…but I actually liked the uniqueness of lightning. So much so that it made more sense to me to just improve lightning and make that better than USB-C in the usual Apple fashion or at the very least similar in specs.
The convenience of speed that USB-C brings is appreciated but for me personally I can live without it
