The Most CONTROVERSIAL Oil I Have EVER SEEN:

Is @RoyalPurpleLLC motor oil any good? Will it prevent long term damage to engine components? I aim to find out with the start of a long term experiment using only Royal Purple 5W-30 engine oil in my 2021 Chevy 2500.

Experiment Assumptions:

- Vehicle is a 2021 Chevy 2500 ordered from the factory and purchased new with single digit miles. As such, we assume engine has no damage and any damage revealed over time was not present at purchase.

- Previous dealer oil change at 4,961 miles (3/28/22) did not affect any engine components negatively.

A moment of silence for the $6.34 worth of oil I spilled while filling the engine 😭

If you’re going to be doing oil testing then you should send off each batch for oil analysis after an oil change.

Good oil. You won't have issues with any oil as long as it's being replaced at 5k miles intervals

10, 000 mile oil change interval is way too long no matter what oil/filter you are using.

I've used it in many vehicles. It's good oil. Zero issues.

We use royal purple in our super late models. We also use them for our deisels. They run amazing with no issues

I'm a pennzoil ultra platinum euro guy so I'd love to see the outcome of one of it's competitors.

Been using Royal Purple since 2004, great products, especially HPS in my Mustang GT. Oil comes out clean every 6 months of 5, 000. Some people change the filter half way and add another quart of oil. Personally, just do the oil change.

I don't hate Royal Purple but once you get into the full synthetic oils, there's not enough of a difference between them to justify the extra expense. I think that with the full synthetic oils, for my money a shorter interval is preferable to paying a premium for something that might be a tiny bit better.

Waaay overpriced oil. This is supertech level oil for amsoil prices.
Pennzoil is the best all around oil for the money.

'Ford Boss Me' did a couple reviews and it did very well according to the Blackstone oil analysis. I change at 5K. All oil breaks down with heat & friction.

ROYAL PURPLE is good if you own Race cars or High performance engines it's OVERKILL & TOO EXPENSIVE for average engines

I'm indefinite to it. It's just another oil at the end of the day. Change it every 3k to 5k and you'll be fine with most oil out there

13' Tacoma I change RP out every 7-8k and a KnN filter and I always feel like I'm draining a 20$ bill down the hatch. It comes out so clean.

Not sure why this is just now showing up on my feed. Any preliminary results so far?

Was that oil used from the start? I've used the Walmart brand Valvoline brand and STP and the oil comes out a very light brown. When you were putting the oil in it was coming out black which is what mine looks like at 5000 miles

I’ve been running it in my 2001 Ford Expedition since I bought it new. 478k miles and still going.

I had a 2004 pontiac grand prix with the 3.8 and it had a bad lifter tick. Almost like a knock thats how loud. At that time i used valvoline full synethic 5w30. After i heard that i used the cheap oil, thinking i might need to rebuild the top end. Well it got worse of course. Very loud. After 2000 miles i needed an oil change again and i previously bought rp high mileage 5 w30 with mobile one filter from before i heard the tick for the next oil change. The lifter noise is almost completly gone, other than the first 2 seconds of a cold start. I will only use rp in my new jeep and other vehicles from now on

I just feel like it easy over priced & way over hyped.

I have used only RP in my Volvo cars for many years. One has around 375K + miles using RP. No issues with lower half of engine. Still going strong.
