I live in Northeast India . I have installed 5 kw of solar panel. I run my house entirely on solar, charge my electric scooter on solar, and am planning to buy an electric car too and charge that with solar...
As of now, i supply the excess power i generate to my neighbors.
Update: have bought tata tiago ev LR on May, done 15000kms and charge it from my solar system on Sunny or partial sunny days.

1. Population= 1.42 billion (largest)
2. CO2 emissions= 3rd largest
3. Historical emissions= 7th
4. Percapita CO2 emission= 170th
5. Renewable energy= 48% of total energy production (target of 50% by 2030 as per Paris Climate agreement)
6. India is the only G-20 country which is in track to achieve Paris Climate agreement goals by 2030.

US and Germany are still far far ahead of India in per capita emissions but no they won't pay any heed to this factor

Charu is the only source of information for DW 😂😂😂😂

Germany and America themselves have forgotten how much pollution they have done in the industrial revolution.😂

India revised its target from 100GW to 175GW in 2019

India has already achieved a renewable energy capacity of 120.90 GW has been installed in the country as of 31st December 2022

Even with 175GW india is 70% successful,

Paris Goals 2015 for 40% renewable is already achieved,
And so the government has revised its target to Paris goals again to 50% Renewable energy,

In short we are achieving our old deadlines

then enhancing targets even further,

and then missing the revised targets

Tell me one example of large emitters doing this

The whole data is wrong as always. Installed renewable capacity is 172 GW right now which India targeted I.e 175GW and 7 years before time because India promised 40% overall renewable by 2030 which we have achieved i.e 42% by 2022 and now we are targeting 65% overall clean energy by 2030. Atleast get you facts straight before you spread misinformation.

Aah worlds most populated country only emits 3rd of the greenhouse gases .but still want to reduce it... What about 1st and second position countries

India acheived its earlier target for 2023. Then made the new target double of it that's why it missed the target.

Western Media hypocrisy- Green House gas (GHG) emissions should be calculated per person with respect to each country. By that measurement, India is way below compared to the damage done by developed economies. Then we can clearly see how Europe spoiled the environment to have reached this scale of development. I don't know why Indian DW personnel are siding with Western journalists for their cheap money. Just because u get paid by them, doesn't mean u have to lose ur moral values. Stand up, & report without bias.

For Charu, DW's peanut money is more important than his nations interest. Makes my blood boil when he sides with DW's wrong narrative of India's emissions.

They conveniently forget to mention that European Union's co2 emissions is 3.5 Billion tonnes vs 2.6 Billion by India (2021 figures)

It sounds like you are doing very very well in India, considering how these numbers pan out on a per capita basis. Well done, from Canada!

My boy charu literally said India gets more than 70% of its energy through coal.😂.

"India is the only big country that not only achieved its 2015 Paris climate goals but also increased its goal from 40% to 50%. Despite this, the world holds India responsible for pollution, while the so-called *Protectors of climate change* have yet to achieve their own goal."

India has the world's largest solar farm. But DW will stick to 3rd largest polluter thing 😂

DW should also show information about the total greenhouse gas emitted since the industrial age for Western countries so that everyone can see the whole picture! There should be a legacy tax also if the Western nations want to impose a pollution tax on the developing nations today!

India is suffering from increasing heat waves yoy, plus the gdp is growing at a rapid pace taking people out of poverty, they are going to consume more. This is going to be difficult

There is no shame on using coal just because west says so. Though India is third largest green house gas emitter, still, in per capita its nowhere near top 20. India should look for cheap energy first then green energy. West developed using coal and nuclear,

Charu should change his headset, it looks like a call center headset.
Also Charu can do some ground reporting and go to actual places.

Armchair reporting and that too a call-center edition.

That's DW for you 😉😁😁😁
