How To: Diamond Grinding Hard Concrete

Well placed concrete is the best canvas for pretty much any floor covering. Being that topical flooring materials are meant to handle abrasion, weight, and be easy to clean, their support by the base slab is important. For the contractor tasked with grinding a good (hard) slab, this preferred concrete quality may present a challenge to be ground as fast as a softer slab. When this happens, it just takes a little outside help to keep the tools cutting.

The video documents a hard slab that needs prepping for an overlay. The job is approximately 1,000SF and it’s scratching at a #7-#8. Some sand and water mist keep the tools sharp and cutting.
