what the heck man, I've been watching Jared's games for about a year now and never realised, and now I feel like I'm a sleeper agent who has just been activated. To do what exactly? Watch more GCN probably!

This is such a cool system to generate backstories. at 47:14 (dangerous monster) I thought maybe it was a really zealous vampire-hunter + bodyguards who had initially come to kill Sydney's character's mum, but then they wanted to put the whole community to the sword + flames (e.g. for 'harbouring' her, or just in case any more came along) so everyone had to band together to stop them? Maybe Sydney's PC's family is other supernatural beings, like a couple of werewolves, or ghosts, headless horse-riders, poltergeists, etc?

I think Sydney's character could be a Cleric of Death, where death was a salvation and friend in light of her mother's curse. The entropy of death is part of life and existence and she accepts it, hence why she does not seek to fix the world as such.

Life path character creation is great so this sounds promising

I love this type of character creation. It's so useful for players new to role-play too! Does anyone know if there's anything like it for Pathfinder? My group currently plays different one-shots each month, but are interested in trying PFS scenarios so there's a bit of continuity with the characters session to session (but that would still work when some people can't make certain months).

I see concern about compatibility for the 'most recent version of 5e' but anything generated can be accommodated. Hasbro changes 5e rules all the time, and sometimes 5e isn't even consistent with itself, so it's good to be a little fluid and go with the rule of cool.... it all works out.

Wow, I rolled a new character and also got a Halfling raised bij Poor Dwarves with Garrison Duty and Light Sleeper as well. No Pegasus though :( (although I did free a rare trapped animal..) Matthews character lives in different universes!! Real fun book, recommended for session 0
