My concern about research programs is that they ask for a resume and as an undergraduate I don’t have a resume or experience already built because it’s my first time which is why I’m trying to apply😭

My personal experience includes reaching out to my professors as I wanted to be involved in a research, and later on not being able to keep up with the discipline, fulfilling the responsiblities and having communication gaps with the professor. Any suggestions on my situtation as I want to get back to the lab as I feel more experienced (I was a freshman at the first shot) but it's been a while not reaching out and actually carrying out a incomprehensible relation at the moment (I mean I feel like) ?

As an undergraduate student in BSC Mathematics, I got selected in Summer internship at IIT Guwahati, but since am from maths background, but they assign, me the topic related to mechanical engineering, which I don't know .So I finally decided it to quit, IDK what to do.Since as a UG student in Maths, so it's difficult to me to get to know all this things that too the area which I have not any knowledge.I am feeling really, bad I am thinking of to quit .But I am happy that I got Selected by the Academy of science, out of 50!

With that being said, it occurred to me that when you reach out to professors do they usually expect you to have background in helping out in labs or as assistants in general?
