I recently booked a flight, followed the link to get approved for American Express, the $199 card. I don't think upgrading to the $599 card makes sense to me. However, I rather than getting free economy class seats, I am interested in upgrading to business class. I am middle aged and I flew economy class when I was younger, but now that I am older, I'd really like to fly business class. I do have some health issues that makes this, not necessary, but highly desirable. How many points does one normally need to upgrade to economy class, say from Edmonton or Calgary to Frankfurt?
