My sweet late Mother was an invalid and she dearly loved the Lord! She played this song over and over and over as she remembered how Jesus has been so g-o-o-d to her in her life!!! She's resting in the arms of her Dear Savior now for nearly thirty years!!! I'm looking forward to reuniting with her in Glory in the Presence of the Lord Jesus Christ when He calls me HOME!!!❤

I remember this song because my grandfather used to record gospel songs on his cassette tape from his cassette tape player and he’d play it in his truck while me, my grandmother, and him would be headed off to church. Man this song brings back nostalgia memories!

I think about my late grandmother whenever I hear this song. This was her song that she’d play every morning before she took me to school. I’m glad she shared this beautiful, spiritual song with me as a little girl. 💕

Thanks for this post. I was introduced to The Poor Boy song by the Canton Spirituals when I was a little boy around 8 years old
growing up in Monroe Louisiana early 80s. The static on the A.M. station was so bad I thought I was going out of my mind but my dad still played it as my brothers and I sat in the car waiting to pick up my mother from her grave yard shift. We had our little spirits filled with knowledge wisdom & understanding because we were living the message in the lyrics. Now at the age of 45 I'm blessed to here this again and all I can say is The Lord Been Good To Me. The bass guitar still rocks hard.

Man I 've been searching for this song for years. Never new who sing it as I was a little boy when I was introduced to this song. My dad was a preacher and all we had to listen to was the AM station. All I remember is the words to the powerful words in this song and all I can say is the Lord been good to me. Give thanks for this post. I was guided here.
