Honestly this makes me understand why I keep seeing so many more people moving to youtube streaming from twitch. I've always hated ads and yes if I get an add at the start of the stream I instantly quit. Do you know what would be the differences between streaming on twitch to streaming on YouTube, from both functionality and monetary standpoints?

Ads are crippling online environments and experiences to such a degree I think they're horribly suppressing the potential engagement time and popularity some platforms and content could receive on a much more frequent basis. And the way monetization is weaponized against some creators is just disgustingly anti-professional and disrespectful. I bet twitch is gonna fall in popularity if any other platform has a solid live streaming network and infrastructure

I get it from twitch and streamers POV, they get that bag 💰. Twitch is so popular now that they might as well run ads, the early days of minimal ads are gone boys. Ads might be my #1 pet peeve so you won’t catch me watching them. Twitch turbo, YouTube premium, dvr everything on tv. I already see in this comments section “ I immediately switch off when the ads come on” “just got 5 minutes of ads” lmao well ya switch to the next streamer and you got some more ads waitin for ya 🤣

Very good video mate well done super informative, just to clarify if you're a 1500 viewer avg streamer and you run 8 min of ads is twtich per month paying you 7k to run the ads or a 1 time fee.

imo the audience culture has shifted towards "hell yeah content creator get that bread" which has led to twitch ads going nuts

I have ad blindness where i tune out during them, integrated ads/sponsorships are the ones that get me, especially when they are content on their own (my favorites are internet comment etiquette with erik and critical role both for their insane nordvpn bits and but never bought the product)
