I built ALONEINTOKYO's new OP turret pod! @aloneintokyo

I was inspired and intrigued @aloneintokyo and his new base. So I sat in a build server for a day so you wouldn't have to! I could not do it exactly how he did it, but the end result is almost the same! This is a step by step guide. Trying to explain every detail in this free hand experiment! I am new to YouTube, any support to the channel is greatly appreciated!

Guess it's gg for compound hopping gremlins, although maybe you could thread a few f1s through those gaps.

If you expand the base its gonna be even worse turret coverage

because a lot of the times when the base is still smaller the turrets across the compound shoot you

tokyo did a stress test on these and he added 4 more turrets to cover things and added boltys in the hidden ones, these def cover a lot of ground and are placed well so they can be broken

I get that the turrets are very well protected but surely they will only be able to fire at very limited angels, right?

one thing i don't get is whether you're able/meant to regularly open/close the turret pods by rotating the walls. Can't you only do that within the 10 minutes of upgrading them so you have to keep the pods open always after that or am I missing something?

Kind of a pain in the ass to build, especially on a high pop wipe day server - but I guess its interesting. I think the tiny gap only gives you minimal coveragoe though.

I don't think I would have released any of the 2 videos you released before talking with Tokyo first about it. I would feel like I ruined something he came up with, but I also get it's what comes with posting videos publicly. That's why he never releases most of his work lol.

Been doing this on different terrains and it can be a pain in the ass to get the height good since you cant see the edge of the twig if the area aint flat. But after a few tries it works. Was pain in my assholes on a 800 pop as a solo xd

With the new sockets it's really easy to freehand that square with zero build out and twig alignment
