Today, we set foot on the breathtaking Skógafoss Hike (Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail), also known as the Waterfall Way. Starting our journey from the enchanting Skógar waterfall, we navigated through 7.5 km of this legendary 25 km trail, braving the raw Icelandic weather and the captivating landscapes serving as the perfect backdrop for this video.

In this episode, we capture the essence of Iceland’s serene beauty, from the stunning waterfalls to the remarkable vistas surrounding the trail. But we must admit - our journey wasn't without challenges. The weather took a bit of a turn, and a slight drizzle caught us as we reached the halfway bridge, prompting us to decide to turn back.

If you're planning on completing the full trail, make sure you book your 4WD bus in advance for a pick-up from the valley on the other side (note: it costs more than €40 per person).

Getting to Skógar from Reykjavik is a scenic 2-hour drive and the good news? Parking at Skógar is free (at least it was when we visited). So, we'd classify this as an exciting day hike from the capital.

Worth it? Absolutely - if the sun's out. The trail can get a bit slippery when it's wet, making it less enjoyable. But on a sunny day? It's an unforgettably rewarding experience, well worth the aches and pains (trust me, my body's feeling it right now).

Come join me on this exciting journey and experience the unforgettable beauty of Iceland's nature. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to follow along with more of our adventures!
