CommBank Matildas v Philippines | AFC Women's Olympic Qualifier

The CommBank Matildas' continue their quest for qualification to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Following Thursday's match against Iran, Australia host world number 44 Philippines at a sold-out Optus Stadium in Perth.

In the second stage of AFC qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Australia host Group A: Iran, Philippines and Chinese Taipei. The group winner will join the winners of Group B and Group C, as well as the best-ranked runners-up, in Round 3, to take place on 24 and 28 February 2024 with the winners of the two-legged home-and-away series progressing to Paris.

Filipinas right now is making Football known in Philippines, as it is not very popular as Basketball and Volleyball at the moment. tough game for the philippines but lots to learn! the philippine girls were clearly competitive and had a game plan which probably they just prepared days ago with the new coach wasn’t enough. the matildas who are now obviously on their prime took years with their previous coaches and with gustavvson to execute a very good play like this. you’ll get there soon philippines, keep working on it! good job to everyone! congrats australia 🇦🇺🤝🇵🇭
