I traveled with university´friends from Italy to England in a FIAT 500. This concert was promoted in Europe as their last concert in England. And we were there so say goodbye .

The people around us were mostly from Amsterdam. I learned to smoke hashish at this show. Yes debauchery did exist in 1979. LOL

Robert has been quoted as saying “Knebworth was a waste of time.” Pretty bold statement I have to say. He’s been through quite a lot though over the past two years. In many ways I feel the Copenhagen warmups had the edge over these Knebworth affairs. The rhythm section sounds fairly healthy here still. It’s understandable that Jim and Robert were nervous-stricken here. Playing to a hundred thousand people can’t be easy. All in all a pretty good late career gig here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the 80s happened in the vacuum created by the absence of Led Zeppelin. Had they survived into the 80s they never would have allowed it.

I had no idea they took an H910 on tour and used it on Robert's vocals! You can hear it beginning at 28:50. And the GX-1... must have been fun for the roadies.

It begins at 1:50:43 jimmy on a strat, " in the evening", great song. Jimmy looks cooler with a strat, but the heroin sweats..smh..i use to know that feeling all to well. I'm glad page came out the other side alright.
