I'm always amazed at how many companies, including medical providers, investment firms, insurance, etc., that have no provision for 2FA apps and instead insist upon sending everything to your phone via text message.

Although I haven't used any "Advanced" protection programs, I believe that the best protection program is how far you're willing to go to protect yourself.
Using MFA, using a password manager (not writing things down and possibly loosing it). Checking the devices logged into your account and removing old ones, etc.
I often think "if it's very easy for me, it may be even easier for a hacker."
Heck, I'm still on the fence on passkeys 😅

7:48 either Twitter or Twitch I forget which one, required me to pick SMS first then stronger options.... while other services just let me skip to stronger options.

What about ESET, NORTON, AVAST, etc. Do even need these for a complete security solution for Windows?

I'm not sure what the effort is when a password manager can enter credentials and a Yubikey only needs a touch.

One thing I didn't really understand about YouTube problem and it was reported that many got hacked. If I can't login to YT unless I use my Google with its advanced protection and the keys, how can Youtube be hacked?

Proton Sentinel isn't available to their lowest tier of paid support. I was excited for 30 seconds there. I'll check it out when I upgrade my account. Hoping for discounts near the holidays to really go premium

I would like to see Financial Institutions like banks & brokerage accounts allow Me & other account holders to use Yubikey as a 2FA. Only Bank of America & Vanguard allow Yubikey 2FA.

Last time I check the reason someone will reverse the apple encryption will be because of some lost of functionality. Not sure if that has change recently.

Thanks Josh. From what I understand, the one thing that solves a bunch of security fears is a security key. But i confess I dread the price (especially w/ 2 security keys). With that said, perhaps it prevents the need of paid password managers and paid app upgrades.

There is ONE downside - you're traveling, and trying to take some photos / videos of something off of a bridge and oops accidentally drop the phone and now it's broken. You just lost your security key. If you did NOT enroll in "advanced protection" you're not entirely SOL - you can figure out something with your carrier to get a new SIM with your number and do SMS verification to get back in with a new phone.

Hello! I have a question: Is it a good idea to setup 2FAs in addition to at least 2 security keys? (like TOTPs & Device Prompts)

No downside-Got a suggestion for you. How about addressing the issue where you change address & phone then try to update them on an account that uses 2FA. They are unable to reset your phone number if you dont have access to the old one for verification (which is why you contacted them in the first place). Tney also cant reset your password, if you need that for any reason, when you have 2FA in many cases. You cant enter 2FA without the password and you cant teset the password if tou need it reset. If you can address the pitfalls of 2FA that would be excellent. Yes having a 2FA key would be a good solution i think but you have to set it up Before such a disaster.
