This camera might be absolutely perfect for its price. I've shot a couple short films that you can find on my channel - they're all shot on the GH5 - and I can honestly say it's incredible. You're right about the autofocus, and full frame would definitely be a lot better than MFT. But everything else in the camera is top notch performance. Great for beginners and pros!

Good review Jake. I also discovered the defects and qualities of the GH5 using it frequently. The two main defects are unreliable autofocus and the production of grainy images in low light. I get great images using a Sigma 1.4 16 mm lens and a Lumix 1.7 42.5 mm lens.

There's two ways to "combat" the shallow depth of field. Everyone knows you can use speedboster, but also, lenses with larger front elements. The larger the front element, the more depth of field, regardless of sensor size

Its a BMPCC4k with IBIS but no Raw 12-Bit. But its so good anyway! Great Cam and great video homey.

I gave in and decided to get an S5 and use my atomos ninja V with it for all my recording. That prores Raw sounds really good - plus that V-Gamut in the real V-Log...

Hey! I bought GH5, and when the camera is simply turned on (without recording), then after about 20 minutes it starts to warm up in the area of the matrix and further stronger. I can't figure out if this is a problem or is it normal for her?
