Edelbrock Head fitment with Hooker Headers #mopar #edelbrock #bigblock

If you’re trying to swap to Edelbrock Aluminum heads, and use headers, this video may help you. Many angled plugged big block Mopar heads have issues with smaller tube headers. In this video, I show #edelbrock 75cc heads, and 1 7/8 hooker competition headers.

That's pretty good I run the shorty plugs on my 383 in the doba with a set of CRAPPY summit headers!. 452s More BB 400!! 💪

Joe, look at the Accel plug wires with the ceramic spark plug ends. They are harder to get on but will NOT burn when they are against the header.

Joe I just take a socket and hit it with a hammer a couple of times and put an indentation in the tube enough to clear, we do it to everything we have here it's a common problem and it doesn't hurt performance good video 👍 good luck with your build

I wouldn't have thought of that. It's good that you share these setbacks and how to resolve them. Looking forward to hearing that bad boy run!

Yes Joe, it's always a problem with headers. But the angled plugs on a B/RB head wow that's definitely an improvement for Mopars.

She's looking beautiful Joe, a small dimple in a header tube ain't gonna hurt a thing.
I can't weight to hear her run.

I think the shorty plugs would be worth it in this case.. I wonder who's headers Edelbrock recommends for these heads??

Good info Joe! I like the 1 7/8" x 3" headers, good choice.

Good question answered for those who don't ask it before hand, but have to ask it afterward. LOL

Good information, I know TTI does make header recommendations depending on the heads you use. Would be nice if others had similar list.

Oh, NICE shirt!

Fitment problems are nature of the beasts in our beloved hobby. Nick at Nick's Garage said in one of his recent videos that, he's done with headers period (including customers car's)!! I laughed because I can completely understand where he's coming from. Especially since he mainly deals with street builds where you can get away with using a good set of manifolds. Whenever I decide to build a quick pure street car, a good set of manifolds are a first consideration. For street/strip I use shorty headers myself, regardless of what people say about them. I like going fast as well as cutting down on HEADACHES. Regardless we have to work on our builds.

Looks good Joe.
I was surprised as you were about the header clearance to plug issues.
You're getting close to start day.
Coming along nicely.
Take care, Ed.

Awesome, you would think that they might have mentioned you need a certain exhaust, and point out where you may or not need to clearance them Clarence 😅 thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

Great video as always!! Always the case with the angle plug heads, most common on the passenger side. There are newer headers available that are designed for the application but that adds $$$ to the build and you already have the right size headers. Here in Canada a new set for those heads is around $1200 to start.
