I’m sure you had never been in China - just heard of something odd about it. For example, the so called 'living caves' are not natural mountain caves you imagine, but cave-shaped rooms named 'Yaodong' built by local people in the Loess Plateau region, with great advantages for them. The 'traffic jam stand-ins', what's that? Maybe you mean the temporary driver hired in case the original driver cannot drive (usually because of drunk, not traffic jam). And also, the 'rat tribe' is purely nonsense, especially in Beijing, the capital and one of the richest cities of China.
