8 Minutes of Fred Astaire Dancing in Your Ears

These are the sounds Fred Astaire made when he was dancing. Raw, unfiltered, and wild. Put your headphones on and have your mind–and your ears–blown!

If you’ve seen a few Fred Astaire films, you might have noticed that he sometimes seemed to be mouthing something while dancing. He didn’t only talk to his dancing partners, but also had a habit of talking to himself during a solo. Sadly, we usually can’t hear him as it wasn’t recorded, and we have the film’s soundtrack drowning it out. Here you get an idea of the little sounds he made while he danced, be it moaning or screaming, cheering himself on, and just generally making noises that give the whole thing a very “jazzy” feel and add so much to his overall appeal. I often think what a pity it is that we didn’t get to hear him like that in his films.

Hey I know it's irrelevant here, but are you able to re-upload your Jean Harlow tribute video by any chance? It was so beautiful and moving and I am gutted ever since Youtube removed it (at least in the UK), so i'm not able to see it anymore. Thanks! X
